I didn't realize it but, he plays a mean tele! I'm watching his Long Road Home concert on the palladia channel. Anyone know about the red tele he's playing? He's got a great sound with it!

Edit: Well what do you know, I found the entire concert on youtube. Enjoy!

The tele comes out on Lodi at about the 13:52 mark. He plays it for a few songs.

The new album might be pretty decent. It is covers of old songs, but it looks like they are having fun anyways.

When I started to listen to pop music in 1970, I liked some of the CCR stuff like Down On The Corner very much. A few years later, I banned CCR from my ears, listening to hard rock then and thinking that CCR was easy-listening kind of pop.

It took some more years to come to the final conclusion: CCR is great music, Fogerty has anvery unique voice that brings a shiver down the spine, and I bought the complete CCR disks, and some Fogerty solo records, too. "Blue Moon Swamp" is one of my favourite records. Thanks for the link to the concert!

I think he is one of America's greatest song writers of all time. Love the guy to death.

If you get a chance to see him Do it you won't be disappointed. On his web sight under tours dates says "There is nothing to display yet, check back soon." kind of odd.

When I saw him play locally about 6-7 years ago he had a red Tele he played on several songs, and he told the audience how he'd pretty much just "discovered" the Tele, and really loved it.

Actually it was the tour in the OP video above. GREAT show! John Fogerty is an American treasure IMO.

I think they're Crook Tele's and Don Mare has done some pickup work for him.

Yup...he can write, sing AND play the hell out of them.
Only a small handful in his league.

I heard somebody say that CCR was the American Beatles. Perhaps a little stretch, but their (Fogarty's) music is incredible: Simple, catchy, groovy.

He has had a history of getting great sounds of whatever guitar he played. Outstanding rhythm player to boot.

He plays in his own league for sure, and musically he's at least as important as the beatles. And yes, Blue Moon Swamp is an awesome album.

That's because he as new record coming at on his birthday May 28th called Wrote a Song For Everyone. Which is basically a duets album.
