Sooooo, he gets a royalty of it? Because of a paint job!??
No, he gets a royalty because he put his name on it and endorsed it. That's how it works.
He endorsed it years ago.
Did Jeff Beck approach Fender in the same veign?
In all fairness endoring usually happens at the time you are using it, not 80 yrs latter.
Is that in the endorsement rulebook or something?
You seem to know the rulebook, reguarding anomalies.
Yes if you are endorsing something you are generally using it.
Gibson approached Page for thier tribute, as is...normal.
So, it says here that Page has had the body restored. I remember hearing a while back that he was looking into having Gord Miller do it. Is that who did the restoration?
Rack of dragons behind Page...
I haven’t been tempted yet to buy an artist endorsed guitar but this might be the exception. The Eric Johnson Strat is the only other Artist guitar I’ve been drawn to and that’s because it’s got a killer feature set.
I’m going to check out a Jimmy Page CS if I can. It’ll probably be too rich for my blood but if I were to actually buy one, it would be to play the dang thing. I don’t believe you can buy something like this as a collectable and make a profit on it. I don’t think anyone cares enough about it and I don’t think that happens with other endorsed guitars.
With bigger name artists the sig models usually are a step up in quality control.
If you like the specs and look of the instrument I think they can be good guitars to buy. Especially the lower cost versions.
I pre-ordered a regular production model through Sweetwater yesterday. Not listed yet, but it will be a Mexican Tele..
While I’d love to have that, would buy it if i could afford, and frankly i couple probably afford it but still won’t buy it, i’m Sure jimmy page just played an off the shelf Tele, something like what would be a MIM or American base standard today
Yup. The distant past will be on sale in the near future.
Wow - so FCS model - 7-10k.... What was the Townsend model? 9999? Regular models MIM? (which is weird, woudlnt this really be an AVRI tele with an artist paint job?)
A whole lotta cash.......A whole lotta cash.....way down inside...Bubba, you need it
I think it's awesome. I probably won't get one though.
....The story is that Jeff Beck gave a '59 Tele to Page that he used all over the place until it was damaged (including the solo on Stairway to Heaven I think?)
Simple designs producing big ideas
What is the cost of the JP Dragon regular production model through Sweetwater?
