Jimmy Johnson is among those musicians who few have heard of but have had such a significant influence. Yes, he'll be missed, but what a legacy he's left behind.

always a sad day when a picker we have all enjoyed through the years departs... tell 'em all that left before ya, we all miss 'em and still love ya all.

The only reason the Truetone interview happened, was due to Will McFarlane's persistence with Jimmy. Getting to sit down with Jimmy was an honor and a treat. I could tell he did not feel well when he came in, but he livened up as we began chatting. Reggie Young earlier this year, now Jimmy.

I heard the sad news earlier and at age 76, but does anyone know the cause of death?

I've played along to those Aretha tunes more times than I can count. So great!
