Everybody is very far out (!) in this shot
or a guerrilla
this is one of the photos from the new SRV bio, right? Angela Strehly and, I think, Kim Wilson. I would have sure like to have around in those days and heard all that unfashionable blues music they were making.
Angela Strehli and Kim Wilson, too!
Keith Ferguson (bass, RIP) is kinda obscured.
I did have that great pleasure!
They had the “real feel”.
The music was unhurried, the soloing succinct and soulful.
Angela has a wonderful voice, Jimmy never wasted a note, Kim is a fantastic front man/harmonica player.
Keith locked with who ever was drumming.
Keith has been gone a long time now.
Yeah, and Jimmie playing an old used guitar .
Which old guys that they idolized started the hardware/mailbox initials on the Strat trend ?
Who was the drummer back then ?
Mike Buck or was there somebody earlier ?
I imagine that is Mike's silhouette behind JLV.
p.s. Mike has an incredible radio show every Monday night on Sun Radio here in town. You can listen on their website, and I strongly suggest you do. http://sunradio.com/program-schedule/
I always thought it was Stevie.
Indeed, more than likely it was MB.
George Rains was also around a lot, too.
Forgot to add that there is also a Sun Radio phone app which works well.
To me Jimmie was always the definition of cool, laid back, but bad azz...
Here's a pic i got from the photographer who covered the Stevie Ray Vaughan tour here in Oz around 1985 (The Fab TBirds supported).
Well, definitely not Mike Buck or big George.
@brookdalebill do you know who this drummer is? I don't recognize him.
I’m sorry, I don’t know him.
Here is the definitive young Jimmie pic!
