Have you seen the one with JH on the Lulu show. Starts with Hey Joe then goes into sunshine of your love.
The faces on the first 3 rows of the live audience is brilliant..'What is that????'

There are many things great about that performance...Jimi smiling as he re-tunes his e string, the quote from the Beatles I Feel Fine afterward, him singing "I forgot the words"...

Thanks for the reminder!

Love Jimi. I've been on a JH kick big time lately. I've often tried to sing and play lead at the same time, over the years, but have never really been able to do it... dang it. Just FYI as an interesting side note but, as I understand it, the old time blues singer/player Charley Patton was known to not only sing and play lead at the same time but also could play his guitar behind his head, between his legs, pick with his teeth, etc. way back in the 20's! :) I guess some people have it, some don't.... I know I don't

OK...You've just hit the big time...you're on a huge TV show...you go so out of tune you think its funny...you play your big hit sounding nothing like the single...stop it in the middle and rip into a song by "God" who has recently figured out that he wants to be YOU...
NOBODY can be more badass than that.
Period.

Agreed.

And he's so freakin' chill while he's making history.

And did I mention humble? Listen to him talk to Dusty before the performance. It reminded me of his Dick Cavett appearance when he responded to Dick "I'm the greatest guitar player sitting in this chair!"

She's not the most technically gifted but I think she was one of the greatest.

She communicated just right.

Funny how that works!

And thank you for posting this song!

It really brings to mind to me how much Jimi Hendrix loved playing with other people.

The stories abound of him playing in clubs, oftentimes after hours jamming with people, even taking up bass duties to hold it together.
No ego, he would let other lead guitarists just go with It and enjoy it

He absolutely loved music and knew it was a community, a fellow love.
