A good friend of mine is dedicated sound man and road manager for The Weight Band. Jim Weider also plays in the Masters of the Telecaster shows and my friend Mark does the sound for them as well.

He sent me this video of Jim playing a truly amazing solo during the show.

The beauty is in the feel and simplicity of the solo. The delivery is just so sweet!

(note the black Thinline in the background. My partner and I built that for Jim and it goes to all the shows.)

Jim is such a great player. He should be more well known.

Jim is a venerable Master of the Telecaster to be sure. He always delivers the goods.

I will always be indebted to the great Jim Weider for the VHS tape he made many many years ago called, "Get That Classic Fender Sound." I learned so much from him from that tape. He still influences my playing all these years later.

I have ( somewhere) an old school VHS tape ( ordered from Guitar Player magazine) titled, I think, ' Fender Gear' where it's just Jim Weider and a backup band ( bass & drums) demo-ing just about every Vintage Fender guitar and amp from the '50's and '60's.
You name it: '51 Tele, Nocaster, Tweed Deluxe, Harvard, Super Reverb, '54 Strat, '58 Custom Tele, '63 Strat, Reverb Unit, Jazzmaster, etc., Jim plays it!
    - Fantastic eye and ears candy- gear overload!

Did see The Band w/ Jim W. in the early 1990's - true thrill, there, hearing these songs live ( and when everyone was still alive)

Edit correction the band show was not with Jim W. t was with the lead guitar player from the CATE brothers who were the opening band
    Just remembered!

Totally echoing the whole, "Fender Sound, "Thing. JBL's are the perfect compliment to this entire situation. I have an E120, A D130 and a K120.

Oh, and I'm a huge Steve Kimock fan. So, I am very familiar with Rodney Holmes, Mitch Stein etc...
