Jim Root Esquire anyone?

Here's my latest build (for a customer this time). The customer said he wanted a Jim Root model but then started adding in his own customizations that turned it into what you see here. specs-
-body- 20 yr old Mahogany with belly contour
-neck- maple with rosewood (dyed black)
-color- Flat white
-bridge- hardtail from Ebay
-pickup- EMG ALX pickup
-tuners- came on the neck will eventually be changed out for Steinbergers
-the output jack position was a request from the buyer






It's not really my style but for metal it works quite well. The ALX pickups sound quite good with some gain. I've left open the option to add a neck pickup later, that's why the 3 way switch is not connected, but for now it's a one trick pony.

 

no, but the pickup has a built in preamp and adjustable boost (up to 30db i believe)
