Jim Herrington - Photos of the Famous (including some we here love)

Hiya.


Just looking at and wondering about posting in the ‘Random Daily Photos May 2022 Edition’ thread,* and I thought of Jim Herrington for some reason. Not sure what made the connection for me - his musician portraits I guess.


Anyway, I quite like his work. Might be some faces in this gallery that folks will recognise. His site’s a bit odd to navigate. The link should take you to a portrait page, and hovering over the right edge of the photo should turn your cursor into a yellow plus sign for navigating (& which will actually allow you to move forward yet travel backwards through the gallery, going by the URL numbering - see, said it was odd).

Try here, for a famous Nat Geo photographer. His actual website has been 'under reconstruction' since some time in 2020.

The four images at the bottom are links to more work. The middle two are a bit sparse, there are a few in the last link, but the first 'selections from the collection' link has a a fair few over several pages. You might recognise some.

He has several great books too - like The Photographic Essay, Vanishing Breed: Photographs of the Cowboy and the West, Portraits of America, etc.
