I know there are a few Top Gear fans on here, its been announced in the last couple of hours that the BBC has sacked him, so what happens to Top Gear now then ?

    And on that bombshell...

It definitely changes the character of the show. Clarkson, and his interactions with May and Hammond, were a massive part of Top Gear's success.

But there are lines you can't cross and Jeremy Clarkson violated more than a few of them.

No tears shed here. Not expecially because I dislike Clarkson, but rather because a thick chav element in the UK treat him like a demi-god. Workplace violence isn't excusable because you manage to drive a car fast once in a while.

Well, I guess there will be no more irrational fanboy love and cooing over wretched Alfa Romeos on the show.:lol:

Before the lock comes down, let's remember this was because he punched a producer, not because he was saucy and politically incorrect.

Why would a lock come down ? anyway I thought the show was getting stale tbh and maybe it was the right time for a revamp or something, and I agree with whats been said, if I lamped my boss because he did something I didnt agree with I'd be sacked and possibly arrested for assault, so why should a public figure be allowed to get away with it ? its going to cost the BBC a lot of money but I think they took the right line with this one

No, he screamed at said producer for 20 minutes because he didn't like the catering, then punched him.

At least he's no Jian Ghomeshi.

Still believe this whole thing was cumulative.

Meaning, had he had the altercation w/ the producer with no past history of inflammatory speech/slanders - he'd still have his job.

    Separately,

Do you s'pose chavs like ICP or just dress like them ?

There was a previous thread about this that drifted to the BBC tv licence fee then drifted to politics and then kaboom.

Maybe we could have a face off between him and Jimmy Savile.

Ah right, I see, fair enough. North Yorkshire police have now got involved and have asked for the report the BBC did on the incident.

Don't see they had any choice. If they didn't fire him now it would have happened down the line. He's not going to change. It's a wonder he's lasted this long.

I don't even watch TG anymore, it's boring and formulaic now, needs a bit of a freshen up, new blood maybe. Now Clarkson and his 2 muppets can change channels, and join Tiff and co on Fifth Gear!
