In doing some research about speaker swaps, I found that many users replace speakers in their Fender Twin Reverbs. Mine is a new-to-me TRRI (2020) that I bought from GC in gently used condition. I don't believe the original owner used it much, as it was biased cool, and the amp was super clean. It sounded anemic, sterile and strident. Oddly enough, given the Twin Reverb's reputation, it wasn't all that loud. Maybe this was a factor in the amp being traded in or sold. Anyhow, after a proper bias (32, it was at 26), pulling v.1 and swapping out the 12AT7 PI for the 12AX7, and playing the amp loudly (vol. 4) for two months, the speakers have really come into their own. They sound warm and articulate; way better than they did when I brought the amp home. I do have to adjust the treble, mids, and bass knobs, to accommodate various guitars (single coil guitars go into input 1 on the Vibrato Channel, humbuckers in input 2) but count me in as one who likes these Jensens. Just thought I'd put it out there, since, well, I felt like sharing. Of course, to each his or her own. Peace.

Congratulations on being patient enough to give the C12K's time to break-in. To many times I have read posts where the poster ripped out a speaker from a new (or newly acquired) amp before giving the speaker the time to settle-in. Yea, I fell victim to believing that what I read or saw in a video, meant that I needed to change something before even trying to see if I would like it. In my experience, you have to balance all the factors such as, guitar, strings, picks, effects, playing style and other things that will have an effect on the sound that come out of the amp.

I had no real issues with the N12K that came in my Tone Master Deluxe Reverb but found the C12Q to be a better choice for matching the other factors involved in getting the twang I wanted.

Cheers!

Glad they worked out for you.
I had them in smaller Fender and was way too middy
for my taste.
