From April 2014, but I just saw it for the first time. Apologies if it's old news to you.
Unusual for him to working with a rhythm guitarist. That sounds great.
Cool! Thanks for posting.
I was gonna post about this concert...didn't get to it.
I recorded it from AXSTV....it premiered Sunday.
I was beside myself when he came out with a Tele. Was anticipating a new level of "talent" outta him without a "talent bar"!
But he only used it on the opening tune
The show was harder and edgier than others such as "Ronnie Scott's."
While I missed the keyboards a little, and I'm not into MIDI guitar synths (Nicolas Meier was very tasteful and restrained though)...it did make the whole sound a little more airy and transparent.
For my birthday, my wife surprised me with VIP tickets to the show here in April.
Looking forward to it even more after watching the Live in Tokyo show.
Great tune! I'm guessing it's in E? Just one chord through out the entire song? Hard for me to tell. Anybody have an idea? Thanks.
Cool to see the Pro Junior still sitting on top of the Marshalls.
sounds more like D than E.
Saw him in Nov '13 w/ Brian Wilson (I know ) and he did that song.
Doesn't that look like an MIM Std ?
Some really nice stuff in there.
BTW - the BW/JB worked more than it didn't .
Band is the same except Lizzie Ball is offstage maybe ?
Really liked this group he assembled - he wants strong players doing their thing and w/ these guys he has that.
I was disappointed when he took the Tele off, too.
But it was a good show. Watched it a couple of times since the weekend.
Love Jeff's playing even if it is with a Strat!
I've learned a lot from his use of dynamics, pleasing to the ear.
I'd say he was down a tone aka mister Trower.
Rhonda's looking great!!!
Yep, definitely D.
Now, I'm off to find Big Block :!:
Jeffs looking more like Link Wray
Looks like he is tuned down playing in F.
Who is the bass player?
Don't get me wrong, Jeff Beck is the man, but... is he playing a top loader in sweatpants and a leather vest?
Rhonda Smith. Formerly with Prince.
I will never get Jeff Beck.
Jeff can do anything he can think of on guitar! Amazing stuff since the Yardbirds. Great live every time I have seen him!
My best guitar-playing buddy feels the same way you do. When it comes right down to it, music can be so subjective that it either moves you or it doesn't; simple as that. God knows there are plenty of huge stars that I don't get.
