I had bacterial meningitis when I was 30. I thought my head was going to explode. Throwing up from the pain. Nasty, nasty disease. I was young and strong and able to beat it.

I hope they got him sedated well so he didn’t suffer too much on his way out. RIP, Mr. Beck.

Best ever, one of a kind. I glad to say I got to see him back on the Who Else? tour (with Jennifer Batten). I’m sorry to say I didn’t get to see him again in recent years. I loved the Loud Hailer album, but I’ll probably crank up some Jeff Beck Group whole going my PT exercises tonight.

I was a leukaemia patient starting Dec 2017 and the first time I was able to go out four months later was courtesy of a good friend to the London premiere of Jeff Beck's documentary. Both Beck and his lifelong friend Jimmy Page sat behind me during the screening.

I expected to be dead just four months earlier but that evening I had died and gone to heaven. Having David Gilmour and Chrissie Hynde at the premiere only added to it. I have some of the most horrible quality photos of the event taken on the sly.

I tried to emulate Beck's style a fair few times on my songs and was always disappointed with the result.

RIP Maestro.

Among so, so much, this one I remember for a number of reasons. Page and Beck together, Beck acting more than playing and his view on ES-125 sorts of guitars, there was a reason he was playing this Epiphone version of one in the movie.

Before Clapton and Hendrix, there was Jeff Beck. Before Beck came along, there were guitarists whose playing I admired, but Jeff Beck, when he was in the Yardbirds, was the first to really amaze and dazzle me with his playing and his sounds.
He was 78 years old. A contemporary of Jimi Hendrix who lived 52 additional years. How long did you expect Beck to live exactly?
I don't care; it's still shocking. Apparently, a very brief illness. And there is at least one TDPRIer that I know of who is 79 years old.

Around 1968 or 9 I was visiting family In Chicago. My older cousin drove to a park and left me in the Convertible Corvair he had and he put in an 8 track for me and I heard I ain't Superstitious for the first time. The panning of the guitar form one speaker to the other got me. I might have heard him with the Yardbirds, but they were just songs to me. I might have started playing around the same time. So I have been a fan for over 50 years and have seen him a few times, the first was the Blow by Blow tour. OMG this is one sad day. I just relistened to Jimi Page give his induction speech at the R&rhof. What can you say but thanks for all the incredible music & influence the guy has given us all. RIP JEFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
