So, I’m a high school chem teacher and I’m working from home (been surprisingly busy doing online teaching!). I got a chance to do some set up work on my two Jazzmasters and thought I’d post some pics. Lighting in this room is horrible. Please forgive me. [IMG]
On the left is my 2019 CV Jazzmaster (stock) and on the right is my Warmoth build from 2016. The Warmoth has PV ‘65 pickups and a right handed trem I never use. I’m on my 2nd neck on the Warmoth. Went with 6105 SS frets with 7.25” radius and rosewood. I finished the neck with rattle can lacquer and it’s pretty white looking. I’m going to let it yellow naturally this time. The last neck was getting fret wear and the aged finished looked kind of hokey. I’m getting different enough sounds out of these guys but may invest in some Rose WRHB for the CV. Post your Jazzmasters!

    Some have more than others.

I've only these two. I'm just not trying.

I once had a jaguar converted with jazzmaster pickups. It was a fun guitar, but unfortunately I have no picture of it to post here, sorry.
But howdie to a fellow high school teacher: I too am teaching online and I’ve been busy as hell! I have to change the saddles on my main guitar and do a complete setup, and I still haven’t found the time for that.

This is the "1968 Tribute" I just finished with my recently acquired free time. I've had the parts for about a year but never had the time until now. It's a Warmoth neck (finished in Tru Oil) with Klusons on a Squier body with US trem and bridge. The pickups are Sunday Handwound "Woodies" (alnico II), traditional 1M pots. I'm still dialing it in, but I'm really happy with it. The A2 pickups are slightly mellower than the traditional Jazzmaster tone without losing the essential character. Oh, and I repurposed the rhythm circuit switch for series/parallel switching, which I find particularly useful on a Jazzmaster (even more so on a Jaguar).

1968 was the first year the spec settled down to what it'd remain for the rest of the original run for the next decade- poly finish, blocks & binding on the neck. It's not an exact replica, but I did splash out on a period-correct waterslide for the headstock because I'm a giant dork. I've got two more Jazzmaster projects in the pipeline that I hope to get finished in the coming weeks, neither as ambitious as this one, though.

What subject do you teach? I’m a chemistry teacher. And yes, definitely busy! Which is good. Keeps me occupied!

I would love to have a jazz master. Does it bother anybody else that the whammy bar is screwed between the strings?
That is messing with my head. My brain is screaming "Uh...NO~!"

I just detuned my Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster down a whole step, replacing another guitar I used for about 4 songs we do in different keys to the original, but this lets me keep the original fingerings. It sounds glorious and now feels deliciously slinky, plus the trem system feels ultra responsive now.

(No point to put a pic in, it's nothing out of the ordinary)

Nice guitars. I’ve always wanted a JM but have never pulled the trigger on one. I already have too many guitars.

My 1962 that was refinished several times by previous owners, stripped and refinished natural in the late '70s:

Sadly, I sold it during a time of financial low point about 10 years go.

Things improved and when I had a steady income again, I bought a used Squier VMJM and later a used JMJM:

and a Jazzpartsmaster that I really need to button up:

It’s was on Austin CL, he lives in Dripping Springs.
I’ve played it, and it’s nice.

This is my baby it’s a mjt jazzmaster body with an A.V 65 neck /mismatched headstock

If you look close you can see on the binding where it goes from a cream like the headstock to bright white where the clear coat is gone (proof these necks wear)

Next to my J. Mascis jazzmaster

First off, I love all the Jazzmasters posted here, real beauties. Here are the Twins, well almost....My 1966 Jazzmaster and my 1965 Reissue Jazzmaster...I'm the original owner of the 66, my parents bought it for me when I was 15. Still plays great.

    Drooooool.......

That 66 is a beaut! We all have our cutoffs and that’s my cutoff as when I consider the last good ones (pre block inlay)
That’s awesome I’m partial to dots and binding

Did you ever open her up? Do you know her month?
I can’t tell from the pics does it have F-tuners?
Was it as white as the A.V when new?
