I've always loved these guys, and found the link to this video courtesy of a member at another board. Warner Hodges gets some super-charged tone out of his Tele, and spins it quite a bit (hope he has Strap-Locks). I haven't heard much about him lately and wondered if anyone here knows how he's doing, if he's gigging & recording, etc.

Wow, didn't know they were still around!!

Great to see they're still out there rockin'. One great rocking band. One of the best I've every seen. It's amazing how many bands there are out there like J & the Scorchers. They work hard, bust their butts, rock 'till the walls come down then get up and do it all over again. Without the stretch limos, stadium gigs, million selling CDS, and international critical acclaim. I say these are the bands that really help rock keep going. They are as good, if not better than many national/international acts and we can see them for a fraction of what it costs to see the big acts.
I raise a glass to all those bands. I wonder if they're still out there or thinking of regrouping. They used to play a lot up here in New England years ago. Hope they get together again and swing back around one more time

I saw them a half-dozen times back in the early/mid 80s and it was always like watching a bomb go off. Amazing. Then I had a chance to open for them about 3 years back, on one of their last tours as a band...full circle!

Great band. Another was the Backsliders and yet another was the BoDeans. All made some great music.

These were, in many way,s the fathers of Alt-Country. Only "Alt" music I was ever able to enjoy. Current Alt-Country isn't as good.

The Sovines were another great outfit.

My brother and mother in law are good friends with Jason and the band. When ever they are in their area, they always stay over at the house for a couple of days.

Jason has been doing his Farmer Jason kiddie thing:

My wife asked her mom what was up with them this evening. My brother in law spoke to Jason this past week. The Scorchers just played in Winston Salem NC.
They are back playing together again, all of them live in Nashville.

I miss the Backsliders. I also miss the Ex-Husbands...great guys, great band, always a fun time to play a gig or party with them.

The movie in the link doesn't play for me. Is there something I'm missing? I'm using IE, XP, WM10.

Does Jeff "Jethro" Johnson still play bass with them?

No.He hasn't played with them in awhile.Last we heard he owns a motorcycle shop out in CA.

Not exactly sure who is playing bass for them now.I will find out when my mother in law calls again.

I saw Jason Ringenberg a few months ago, playing to about 25 little kids at about 11 in the morning. It was pretty fun. He played a couple of Scorchers songs too.

Those guys rule. Here's a link to a lengthy Warner Hodges articles. Some good gear talk.
