I saw a Jason Isbell Telecaster for sale that had a plastic input jack, but most of the ones I've seen in pictures have an input jack cup.
Is the cup standard on these, or is that just something that can vary?

If it's a previously owned guitar. Someone has probably changed the jack.

Any pictures I've seen of new ones. It's a standard metal jack cup.

If you don't like the plastic one. Go back to a standard or Electrosocket.

The only problem is. You'd probably have screw holes that won't get covered with the jacks that are recessed.

They do make metal versions of the flush mounts too.

Mine has the metal cup style jack. I haven't seen any indication on t current sales literature that it's changed from the factory. Someone's either changed it or perhaps a different model that someone is trying to pass as an isbell? I'd be wary of other 'work' done to it if you have a change to look it over in person

I wish all teles had plates instead of that stupid cup. What a silly design choice. And what an extra silly thing for the company to still be holding onto all these decades later.

That said, I’d definitely want to replace a plastic one with a nice thick metal plate.
