Nice! There's a podcast called "My Favorite Album"; on one episode, Isbell talks abou Sticky Fingers. Well worth tracking down if you're a fan of his or the album.

These two guys are on a completely different plane of existence than everyone else. They can do no wrong in my book. Jason's playing is something special. Here's a video from Ryan's set where Jason sits in on "Oh My Sweet Carolina." Skip ahead to about 7:20 or so if you just want to see that one.

Right there with you Dark Knight!

Yeah, I was waiting for the Dean Martin tune! Or the Bobby Rydell cover. OK, so I'm old!

To write one song like Danko/Manuel....
He is just down to the bone.

I heard "Live Oak" off of my friend's compilation CD and was taken with it immediately. Bought Southeastern and it affected me like nothing else has in 20 years when I started listening to Zevon, McMurtry and Hiatt. Then dug into his back catalog and wondered how I had gone this long without knowing his stuff. Between the writing, the playing and the singing (his version of Pancho and Lefty might be my favorite)....man. "Down to the bone"is a great description.

Jason is a guitarist like session quality. Somebody show me a video that proves Ryan isn't just a hipster power chord jockey?!? Good song though. Jason isbell did the same for me, I always loved drive by truckers, back then mike cooley was my favorite, but when I heard codeine I never missed a single song he wrote after that.
