That ACL song about The Band is one of my favorites. I have been watching Isbell for quite a few years, well before the release of Southeastern.

I think he is one of the best writers going right now, and his guitar playing, and his entire band's playing is really at the top right now. And, I have tickets to see him this Saturday.

Listen to this song "Children Of Children" off his latest album. It is a phenomenal song.

I saw him on the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute show play "I know a little". He handled that guitar part and the lead with aplomb. I was impressed.

Youtube is loaded with fantastic live footage of Mr. Isbell.

As well as really poor quality footage!

He is one of my favorite current artists for sure.

Just saw Isbell and co. last night. Killed it! I've seen them 6-7x in the last 5 years and last night was as good as any show I've seen. Jason and the 400 unit don't get enough credit as being a great GUITAR BAND. Jason and Sadler Vaden can flat out play. They did an encore of ABB's "Whipping Post" that was as good as I've seen anyone do.

I have yet to see him live unfortunately, but I’ll continue to tell anybody who’s willing to listen that he is the best songwriter of my generation hands down.

He's hands down the best singer songwriter of his generation. My admiration goes all the way back to the Drive By Trucker days. I can't say enough good things about him as a person, songwriter and musician. "Tupelo" is the first song I play when I pick up and Acoustic and a capo these days.
