Stumbled upon this video and thought it was great. What a guy.
He's a cool dude!
That was a super cool and classy way to handle a bad situation. I've never heard of him before, but I liked what I heard and will be digging into his music for sure.
He has a new album out called Southwestern. It's good.
never heard of him, but it doesn't sound like the kind of music that would getting people psyched up to fight.
there was a time in my life when we would have stopped a few times an hour... not sure if that would have gone as well... but, hey, I am against fighting.
(I'm also against mean people, hurting puppies and people who steal from old people, I think we should be nice to children and follow all traffic laws.)

Isbell used to be in Drive-By-Truckers.
Don't let this song fool you. He can throw down the raWk too. Great live currently, & when he was with Drive By Truckers. You guys that don't know him should def check him out.
Oh, wow! I saw Drive-By-Truckers open for the Black Crowes in 2006. They didn't make too much of an impression on me, but they were more or less background music as we were hanging out on the lawn before going down to our seats for the Crowes. I do remember thinking I should look more into them as I liked their sound.
I've spent the last hour checking out a tome of Isbell's solo stuff and I REALLY like it! Gonna pick up some music tonight for sure! I'll now add Drive-By-Truckers to the list.
Southeastern was my favorite record of 2013. Reminds me a lot of Whiskeytown circa late 90's. Since he's sobered up he's really hit his stride IMO, though he was good before.
It's acutally "Southeastern."
I just heard of him too. He did the WTF? podcast with Marc Maron. Sounds like a swell guy. His music is great too. Here's a link to the podcast for iTunes folks: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/episode-482-jason-isbell/id329875043?i=286343711&mt=2
Good for him.....and his music is pretty good.
Best lineup of Drive By Truckers included Jason
+ that was cool
It was certainly in my top five albums for 2013. Brilliant album.
Isbell is great; I saw him when he came through St. Louis a couple months ago and it was one of best shows I've ever seen. He (and his band, who are wonderful by the way) gave 100% in every song that night.
