I was a huge fan of Twin Peaks during the original run. I lost track of season 2 because they kept moving what night it was on. I finally got to see it a couple years ago when they did the re-make, and season 2 was just unwatchable. Couldn't stand it. Season 1 was as great as ever, and I loved the re-make. But season 2 was terrible. Maybe I'll watch it all the way through from start to finish again someday, because I'm still a huge Twin Peaks fan. It's one of the few interesting shows ever made for broadcast television.

There was definitely a dip after the central mystery was "solved", but the last few episodes of Season 2 were excellent. Lynch had minimal involvement for much of the final season of the original run.

    Episode 8.

My missus (who did like TP) was not impressed.

I think David found her limit there.

Twin Peaks was definitely ahead of it's time. I was among a small group of us who watched it and became devotees almost immediately.

I used to sit down each week with a black coffee and a donut and watch Twin Peaks. I have them all on VHS here somewhere.

I'm a David Lynch fan, but I'd never seen Twin Peaks until this thread inspired me to watch the pilot last night.

    I'm in.

I tried to like Twin Peaks but I just couldn’t. Maybe it was the times, maybe it was my mindset, I really don’t know.

I never thought about it until now. Maybe I’ll try it again. Maybe I won’t

    Twin Peaks is:
    A soap opera
    The Twilight Zone
    A Horror Movie
    All rolled into one.

And, David Lynch will make you laugh right after a very sad scene.

Case in point: At Laura Palmer's funeral, her father, very distraught, jumps on the coffin as its being lowered into the ground while sceaming, "My Baby!"

    Very upsetting.

Next scene: That evening, a waitress who was at the funeral is describing the scene to two elderly gentlmen who are eating dinner, and everybody cracks up hysterically.

I've never seen anything like that ever!

    Mike ;)

It was great. I would not call it perfect, but I would compare it to good literature: you can forget story and just savour the writing on your palette

I would expect people who liked it to like The Prisoner. Patrick McGoohan version as well as the remake. Things are prompted in your mind differently for everyone

When the original show was on, my girlfriend would bake a pie every week. Good times.
