I've apparently stopped being a tight-a$$ curmudgeon

I'm glad you posted, fairly cool this evening, been unseasonably warm so far this year here. I'm going to go through my closet and pull out a few jackets and put some in both cars. Last year I gave a street guy the coat I was wearing, felt pretty good too. My wife and I both put some money in the Salvation Army pot today, try to do that each time we go grocery shopping.

Somehow, I can't imagine the guy who designs guitars with such joyful whimsy and delightful line and colour being a tight-ass curmudgeon. That's like saying that Dr. Seuss hated children.

Jupiter said in post #25 what I was thinking - you're just having a Scrooge moment. Are you sure you're not feeding those birds and rabbits to gain their trust so you can catch and eat them? And can I please have another piece of coal for the fire?

No, don't "get over it"! There's nothing wrong with you! This world needs more of this kind of behavior. We need more nice people. Life can be such a pleasure sometimes, and it's usually because someone did or said something nice. This promotes more of the same.

I've managed to avoid that movie since it came out, I'd hate to ruin my streak. My 'Excessively Smarmy' klaxon went crazy when I watched a trailer for it.

Despite it's good intentions and positive message, the movie's principal stars are a triad of actors that I'm not too enthused about watching, Spacey, Hunt, and that kid that can see dead people.

Hmmmmm! sounds a bit like a curmudgeon, doesn't it? but maybe not such a 'tight-ass' one though,

Tight-ass and curmudgeon are not the same thing. I have spent much of my life cultivating a high level of curmudgeonosity, ane most who know me would say I've done a good job of it, but at the same time, most of them would characterize me as generous.

At least I think they would...

Good for you John, I've been working on my patience as I very little and that has cost me very much in life and in many ways.
