So…it takes 2 hours to determine who’s the most “Texan” of the group before jamming ?;)

Just kidding, have fun y’all!!
Well of course!

First we have compare boots, hats, and belt buckles. Then we ooh and aah and drool over each other's nice Tele's!

Seriously though, I'm figuring I'll be pretty busy once people start arriving, so I want to start it and forget it. Hopefully there won't be any major logistics or other problems with Skype, I've only done a limited test, so we'll see how it goes.

But at least we're trying!

Cheers,
Doug

I'll bring copies of a couple charts for your binder, Doug. I'm thinking

Streets of Baltimore
Partytown (w/ alternative lyrics)
Cold Shot

Should I bring some BBQ sauce?

This is gonna be great ...

This is such a great thing. I did end up getting called to work tomorrow, so I knew better than to even consider it. But it would have been a great road trip and tons of fun I'm certain.

I don't currently have a suitable jam venue...but if there's ever one for Northeastern Texas I'll take vacation time to attend!

You all have a blast, post lots of anecdotes and pictures, and I'll try to catch the next one. And safe travels to everyone.

The Central Texas TDPRI Jam is now officially set for Saturday, May 13, 2023!

I decided to start a new thread on this, but this was the original one from last month
https://www.tdpri.com/threads/whos-up-for-a-central-tx-tdpri-jam.1127836/

And here is the link to the one we did 15 years ago in 2008

Location is at my place out in the country in the Willow Springs community, about half way between Houston and Austin (about an hour and a half from either one). It's about 23 miles SW of Brenham, or 22 miles E of La Grange (a haw haw haw!)

Here's the link to the Address

I figure we'll start around 1:00-ish, and we can go till whenever (no time or noise restrictions). My drummer and bass player from my band will be there, but feel free to bring your own, or other musicians (fiddle, pedal steel, etc.). You can get here any time if you want to come early.

This is kind of what it looked like 15 years ago, with Mr. Leon Grizzard heading up the vocals here! Interesting trivia - from from what I can tell, the only people who were at the jam 15 years and this upcoming one will be me, my drummer and bass player, and Leon!

I plan to have BBQ and fixins, but you should bring your own beverages (I'll have plenty of backup though!).

See the post in the link above for info on accommodations, I'll do my best to put you up here, but there are some B&B's fairly close (Fayetteville area is probably your best bet).

Please let me know if you are planning to come, and also if you are bringing anyone else with you (friends and family are definitely welcome). I'm trying to get a reasonably accurate count so I can make enough food (although that's usually never a problem around here!).

This is the view from the porch of my Music Room today! It's great for just chilling when you need a break.

For gear, of course bring your guitars, and amps. If you sing, a mic and stand would be helpful - I have several, but maybe not enough to go around. I have a full drum kit, bass and amp, and PA (see pics in previous post for an idea).

PM me if you need my cell phone number, or if you have any specific questions.

I'm really looking forward to this, it should be a blast!

Cheers,
Doug
This is sooooo cool, I wish I could have gone and I hope someone does one in my neck or the woods. You gotta share some vids of the event, pretty please!
