    Wow...
Lots of action in the Bad Dog.
Feel like I should have posted a Virtual Hug Thread.

The coolest posts of the last few days were Bones photos of birds.
I miss those threads of his with pics.
    Good Stuff.

We lost Paul. That weighed heavy on my mind.
Did a lot of thinking about him. He was so stoic in spite of his struggle.
An inspiration. A bar to live up to in my opinion.
And he was kind. And positive.

So, the world turns. We're just along for the ride.
Maybe we should all just do our own part to live well and be kind.
Sooner than not we'll be gone.

What are you doing this weekend?
I'm going to see the new Rambo.
I'm gonna rewire my two Oscar Schmidt Les Pauls.
I'm gonna cook some chicken on the grill.

I'm not gonna let the craziness of the world take up space in my mind.
After all, it doesn't pay any rent.
Why let it take up space?

    Want a virtual hug ?
Tell me what positive thing or change your gonna do this weekend.
    Anything...

    RIP Paul.
    FG

I just have a bunch of work, but it’s what I live for.
I feel real sad about Paul.
He was another fellow gigging soldier, and a wise and cool guy.
I’ll take that virtual hug, ma’am.

Gonna see if I can figure a few snacks out of a lap steel this weekend before I take a song into the studio. Never recorded with the instrument, so I'll take a hug.

Spot on with your Paul thoughts.

Sometimes life just gets me down. This week was no exception. However, me and wifey are going to Fenway Park Sunday to see the Red Sox take on the Orioles. Then, next week, going to NY with my brother and a couple lefty guitar buddies to see the Play It Loud exhibition at The Met. I’m stoked about that.

    Great post.

I was very sad to hear of Pauls' passing. May he RIP.

Saturday we are playing at a pediatric cancer benefit. So Paul will be on my mind. We have been playing that gig for the past few years, and seeing those poor kids that have never known anything but cancer reminds me to not sweat the small stuff.

Sunday, taking a nice motorcycle ride on some back roads with my honey.

Will be starting work on winterizing the yard in hell's full acre. Then digging into a new/used Gretsch to see if I can get a song out of it for rehearsal later in the weekend.

Paul will be missed here, that's for sure. He faced his troubles with quiet dignity, and there's a lesson there. RIP, Paul.

We're going to see the NYC stop on King Crimson's 50th anniversary tour tomorrow night. Really looking forward to that.

And then Sunday, we're going to Brooklyn to visit the workshop of Ken Butler - a guy who takes junk and turns it into playable instruments!

Ken Butler may be the only person who could follow King Crimson! Should be a lot of fun.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. If any of you wear glasses, be sure to take them with you. The instruments are well-lit, but the rooms are dark and the placards are a bit difficult to read... especially over the shoulder of that clown who's just stepped in front of you so he can take a picture of the guitar.

Great thread to start. I have been thinking along very similar things about our family here on TDPRI.

I'm finally starting to sheetrock the master bedroom today and through the weekend. We have been sleeping in the completed guest bedroom for three years now. At least I got the studio sheetrocked last year. Priorities.:D

I'm also joining a group of volunteers for a short work session tomorrow at the 1910 School house restoration that I'm involved with.

Sunday we are having dinner with two other couples to discuss our wine tasting trip up into B.C. in a few weeks.

I talked to my best friend and guitar mentor (he is still working in Silicon Valley), last night to see if we can hook up next week while I'm in the Sierras of California to celebrate my Dad's 90th B-Day. We will probably meet halfway in Sacramento at a guitar store and have lunch too. My wife and I love road trips and she has never seen eastern Oregon, so we are taking the less traveled route this time. It has been two years since I have seen my Dad, both sisters and nephew. I can hardly wait.

Yup, now you know why I am still in sheetrock mode.

Relflecting on our loss of Paul in Colorado, I am reminded about how much I enjoy reading about our TDPRI family members and how oddly close we get to know each other. It is a beautiful thing we got going here.:)

I have a new Strat coming in the next few weeks which means I need to get rid of something else. Decided to sell my 1996 Squier bass but it needs new pots so I'm going to try and figure that out this weekend. I've changed pickups but never pots so will see how I get on.

Apart from that, there's a restaurant I want to try so I'm going to head over there tomorrow and maybe have a couple of pints after. Lazy weekend overall, can't wait!

Going camping in Yosemite National Park in Tuolumne Meadows with my wife and friends. Looking forward to some hiking and chatting around a fire and beautiful night skies.
