You know you can lean on US any day of the week!
We need someone to pick on,
Good luck! The weather has been very nice in our region so get outside if you can. I know that's not an explicit medical treatment but could be good medicine for that feeling down part. Again, good luck and best wishes.
Thanks for explaining. Life throws some people heavy challenges to which the only sane responses must include anger, depression, sadness. I'm sure you already have more advice than you can stand, and I'll bet that half of it is superficial, however well-intentioned, so I'm hesitant to add more. But:
I think that it is great that you can see your difficulties clearly and embrace them honestly and without lapsing into slap-happy responses that ignore the very real difficulty of recovery and change. Missing alcohol is both common (sometimes profound) and a huge problem. Alcohol is the great enabler, a powerful depressant, and a mind-alterer that pretends to offer calm and pleasure even as it delivers brain damage, delusion, and addiction. I hope you can give yourself credit for the courage to see clearly -- even things you hate to see -- and for grappling with your challenges rather than lying to yourself that you have none. I hope you are already, or soon will experience tangible improvements as a reward for doing the right things, however hard. I hope you know some trusted professionals, though in my own experience there are really very few of those kinds of people in the profession of dealing with people in difficulty and at risk. Hang in there. Even though the people here are just online connections, the sentiments and ideas expressed are very real, and if the people around you are not offering lots of this, that is their weakness, not yours.
Best wishes and Prayers sent.
Like everyone else here, I'm wishing you nothing but the best. FG, I used to reject the notion that positivity could influence the healing process as malarkey. But clinical research has shown how chronic stress adversely affects our telomeres (which allow cells to divide without losing genes). So perhaps diverting your attention to band arrangements and singing songs that bring you joy could be therapeutic--not just for your psyche but for your physical condition too. And please don't ever apologize for venting here. Get well!
( You guys are making me tear up)
I've taken to heart Each And Every Post.
You guys are the greatest, Bless all of you!
You all made my day.
The outpouring of kindness and concern has touched my heart.
I wish I could hug each and every one of you.
With a smile on my face and watery eyes
Hey...Band Name or Song Title = HAPPY TEARS
Awww, FenderGyrl, I'm so sorry to read this. I hope and pray that the treatment works. I have been where you are, and it can be really a terrible place. Just remember that you have friends here who only want to see the best for you and who appreciate you tremendously. Sending every good thought your way, and praying that a bright light shines for you and on you.
3 drunk guys enter a taxi. The taxi driver knew that they were drunk so he started the engine & turned it off again. Then said, "We have reached your destination". The 1st guy gave him money & the 2nd guy said "Thank you". The 3rd guy slapped the driver. The driver was shocked thinking the 3rd drunk knew what he did. But then he asked "What was that for?". The 3rd guy replied, "Control your speed next time, you nearly killed us!"
Hope you feel better Gyrl,,
Prayers and best wishes for you, FG!
And just so you don't do something crazy when you start feeling better
In surgery for a heart attack, a middle-aged woman has a vision of God by her bedside. “Will I die?” she asks.
God says, “No. You have 30 more years to live.”
With 30 years to look forward to, she decides to make the best of it. So since she’s in the hospital, she gets breast implants, liposuction, a tummy tuck, hair transplants, and collagen injections in her lips. She looks great! The day she’s discharged, she exits the hospital with a swagger, crosses the street, and is immediately hit by an ambulance and killed. Up in heaven, she sees God. “You said I had 30 more years to live,” she complains.
“That’s true,” says God.
“So what happened?” she asks.
God shrugs. “I didn’t recognize you.”
Thinking of you, sending vibes and strength. Mack the dog is sending virtual licks and tail wags.
You may want to consider the medicinal usage of cannabis. Permitted in WI.
Wish you get better soon
All the best to you. Hang in there.
Sending lots of good vibes to you! Glad you were comfortable enough to come here and vent.
Sometimes there is a turnaround right up ahead, can't see it coming. I hope you experience one real soon, you deserve a miracle. Good luck and good health FG!
Sending healing vibes out to you... All my best to you.
FG, I hope this is just a speed bump and that the next treatment is the open road.
