It's been 11 years, maybe I should introduce myself?

    Hello all,

I joined back in 2009 and have lurked here and there since then. I'm on another forum as 'Lt Dak.'

Never posted before today and figured I might as well introduce myself.

In 25 years of playing, I only had one Tele (90s am std) and never really got on with them. The last 5-10 years I've largely been out of the gigging thing. No more big boards, loud amp, etc. My practice setup is a lot more simple (often just guitar, low gain amp, and a fuzzface), and I've started using the guitar's volume and tone knobs a lot more.

I got a '16 mij 52 RI about a month ago, and suddenly it clicked. So many sounds in such a simple instrument. I love it.

And because Gas never sleeps, I've got a NOS blue floral incoming.

Gonna clear out some little used guitars and use the funds to locate a pink Paisley reissue. It's one of my few "bucket list" guitars. Seem to be a bit scarce these days.

In any case, I look forward to hanging out a bit more.

    Thanks!

Great to hear from you. Now don't wait till 2031 to followup with us about that pink paisley when you get it!

Haha. Glad to be here, and I promise not to wait another 11 years. This has got to be one of the longer gaps between registration and first post.

Fingers crossed fender decides to give us another reissue. That would make my day.

If you've been lurking for 11 years there's no excuse for not knowing the rules, pics or it didn't happen!

    I know, I know. Inexcusable.

It's funny, but this really has been one of those times where I've been too busy playing a newer guitar to stop and take pics. :D

Fender reissued the pink paisley last year or so maybe 2018, you can still find one if you hurry

I’m a confirmed mij and paisley lover

    Welcome into the fold

I think it was 2016 based on what I can see. It's probably a combination of folks not selling as much due to pandemic and buying more because they're stuck at home, but they seem to have dried up except for a handful at seriously high prices. Maybe that'll change. Who knows?

    Thanks!

Woe! Time flies, if seriously interested in any other of the paisleys or florals I’d probably try to get an older one, gotta be careful though there’s lots of people that incorrectly list 2000’s models as from the 90’s
As far as all older mij teles you have to be careful because they put an A-serial number on them for a long time and need more evidence for proof of age

I got deep into mij for a while, I just love their stuff

I don't actually. My lurking was fairly sporadic. Some of the names are familiar from elsewhere though.

    Glad to be here.
