Mine is a "Maranello Semitone" with "orange burst". It's a 25" scale, which I didn't think I'd like, preferrring 25.5 generally. It's a semi hollow body with medium output humbuckers. It's no longer in their current line.

I really like mine but don't hear much about them. It's my only HB equipped guitar anymore.

One of their models, the "Mondial Classic", features 2 HB, a piezo with separate volume and output jack, and strangest of all, a "Res-o-Glas" top.

They don't have anything that directly cops a Tele or Strat shape. Another one in the current line, the Imola Vario, has 3 pickups split side to side and you can combine the 6 different pieces in any way you see fit, as far as I can tell. That's pretty far over the top!

Anyone else ever come across one of these?

Chris Rea plays 'em and tours with 'em along with his Strat.

I owned a Rimini 12 string about fifteen years ago. Blue 'mother-of-toilet-seat'. Pretty nice guitar, should of kept it.

    I had an Imola bass.
    I'm looking for another one.
It was like an Ampeg bass (Rick Danko) with Jazz bass electronics.
It was comfortable to play, sounded good, was fairly light and looked cool.
    Shoulda held on to it!

There is a pink mother of toilet seat 12 string that pops up on our Craigslist every now and then. It is vaguely Ric-ish. I lust for that guitar every time I see it.

[IMG] I have a quiet, slowly developing gas for the Rimini 12 string as well.

That is what Trev Wilkinson was going for. The 1960's pawn shop off brand but quality vibe. And vintage features. So he nailed it.

If you said that you never had one of these I’d be more surprised

    That’s our odd-John!

I tried the rimini 12 string. It’s very good. The mini humbuckers were just bright enough to jangle a bit and it sounded good with a touch of gain.

    That's what mine looks like.

What was it that drew me in? Believe it or not, 1V/1T on a 2HB geetar. I vowed never to buy 2V/2T ever again. By comparison to many of them this one's rather understated. Neck is glued in or it might be continuous with the center block. The only thing that I actually find tasteless on this is the plastic logo thingey on the headstock.

    Forgot to mention:

    "Plays like Philadelphia cream cheese".

You can blame the Italian accordion industry for it.

I was seriously tempted by a Rimini 6-string in a pawn shop a few years back. If I were looking to add to the herd (which I'm not), it'd probably be an Italia or an Eastwood of equivalent weirdness.
