Scrub to 4:38 to see him actually release the cars.
Don't you have the ones where you put a cap under the hood ? and they go band real look when they hit a wall ?
Somewhere in the attic is a box of well used, loved and abused HW cars, and among them, I’m fairly sure, is at least one of those lift-bodies with a different and horribly disfigured paint job. At my peak, age 12 or so, I think I had 3 different “sets” of Snake & Mongoose dragsters, even though I’d never even seen those guys race.
Two cars that I used to drag race.
Its Friday night.

We used to have "sword fights" with lengths of the Hot Wheels track when we got bored playing with the cars. Man, those suckers could leave some nasty welts on ya...

Matchbox has been great lately, Hot Wheels not so much . I know Hot Wheels owns Matchbox
In the 80s, I worked at a place with a very large parking lot. The IROC Camaro and Monte Carlo SS from that era were notoriously easy to steal. We called the local police to report stolen IROCs and Monte Carlos a lot for a few summers.
Last month, I noticed the store had a Hot Wheels "Retro" Monte Carlo SS on the impulse-buy rack next to the register. It crossed my mind it might be fitting to shoplift it.
