Congrats! My AV 64 (deep Candy Red here) has stealthily become my favorite since I got it a month ago. It's just perfect.

I've played a couple of those white '64s and they were all perfect. Great looking guitar!

Yeah, should have a single-ply white guard.

But those are 5-holes. And '58 has a maple fretboard.;)

Congrats on the new Tele! I have a white blonde AV64 as well, it's nothing short of a great guitar. I went with a black guard because I've always had a thing for Jakob Dylan's 2-pickup Esquire.

I played the 58 and 64 in a store, and the 64 felt thicker to me. I think it probably had more to do with the maple board than the profile though. For some reason, maple boards just never feel right to me. I just can't get past them.

Well done, that looks the business. I've been playing on my blue AV '64 every night and really enjoying it. I've been playing for 20 odd years and only recently had the guts to ask to play on such an expensive guitar in a shop...I played the 65 strat and couldn't believe how nice it felt and sounded. I took a punt on the 64 having never played one and it really doesn't disappoint. I think it's the same neck actually. The guitar just oozes quality. Sure, the audience won't know the difference, but as a piece of lovingly crafted wood in my hands it just has a feel that's better and more addictive than any of the other electric guitars I've ever had. It's the real deal.
