It has 13 strings, only five frets and yet is no Djent machine?

Perhaps strange to state this but guitars like this have since become common place and some Djent players aren't beyond themselves of taking the mick out of the concept. Jared Dines for example has a one string one fret guitar as a deliberate counterpoint to his 20 string guitar.

So when you're reading the title, you might go "Gah, not another one of those!" But no, this 13 string, five fret monster DEFINITELY doesn't Djent.

Sounds like the Magnus Chord Organ my grandparents bought me when I was 10.

Sounds a bit like Brian May’s multilayers.

Because it's far too technical and Jazz influenced to be metal.

I mean does THIS sound anything like a Metallica song?

There are a lot of skills being used here. Kind of seems like a waste.

Is this the modern say Satriani? Great chops, kind of interesting for a song, but there's just not enough substance to hold you. Well, me anyway, but music is subjective and if you dig it then cool. But for me, add some lyrics, or find a film to score.

The Lirone though, that thing could play my JAM!

Animals as leaders is djent? I thought djent was what it sounds like; detuned palm mute butt rock stuff. No?

I would've called AAL prog metal or even fusion.

There are nowhere near enough different sounds of metal to account for all the subgenres of metal. I think there's a seperate subgenre for every square mile of swedish forrest that a band photo can be shot in.

Thank you for that, I enjoyed the Lirone video until the end, though tired of Animals as Leaders after less than a minute. About to watch a Baroque Cello video from the same producer as the Lirone one. So my lockdown day is suitably enhanced. Thanks again.
