Eagerly waiting for it to be installed in my amp ...
Exciting! I like Jensen Speakers. I have a "c10q" a "c12q" and a "Mod"
Which amp are you putting it in?
Anyway, let us know how it sounds...
It will go into a Laney Cub 8 (single 6V6/single 12AX7). I want to brighten it up a bit.
Some people don't care for the reissue Jensens but I've used a number of them and am very happy. They're priced right too.
Hope you like yours.
Thanks. Just a few more days, and I will hear it.
I replaced the Mod (which sounded good) in my 67 Vibro Champ with the C8R, which I like better.
I've read ebout the Mod. Seems to be warmer than the C8R. Since I wanted a bright speaker, I ordered the C8R
I've played for a couple of days, and it's really articulate, with nice top end sparkle. I'm very happy with it. Does it sound like a vintage C8R?. I cannot tell. Does it sound good?. Of course.
Haha..... doesn't take much to excite you, hey.
I've tested it for a couple of days. Literally, it feels as if blanket was lifted from my amp. Nice top end sparkle, and verry articulate with overdrive. Not as efficient as othee 8 inch speakers, but I'm not looking for that.
Which are the tonal differences between the C8R and the 8 inch Mod?
I would say a little brighter with the C8R. Really hard to compare only having one connected at a time (ha ha).
Yes. Unless you have them in different cabs, with cab switching capabilities, it's not easy to hear the difference on the spot. Any way, I'm happy with it.
I’m a fan of both the Mods and reissues.
Never played through any Mod. But this reissue is nice. I can get good frequency response across the spectrum when I need it.
