It’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow. Those cars are kind of an extreme example, granted.

My 66 TR4A was about the same, had an engine inherited from a tractor and little in the way of sound engineering. But it was small, and light, and that qualifified it to be a sports car.

I had a 914 before my 911 coupe. Fun car and won lots of car rallyes with it. As a long time PCA member, the 550 was the roadster of my dreams, but I really enjoyed the heck out of my 914. IMG_4011.JPG

Yup, I did my own oil changes and valve adjustments on my 911.

Just the cost of the four valve cover gaskets plus 11 quarts of oil every 3000 miles scared most people off.:D

But it was all worth it.

And I'll bet you have the Stones cranked while driving once in awhile too.

I don’t listen to anything but six cylinder music most of the time, but when I do....

Not trying to be interesting or anything:lol:

I don't blame you. One of my favorite sounds is the famous flat 6 near redline.:)

This was my exact year, model and color that I had for about 15 years. Enjoy the sound. Not a roadster, so hope I'm not hijacking the thread ... much:;)

No worries on the hijack, I’m all about the superior structure of the full top in most applications. Damn engineering perspective:lol:

The old 911s required a full understanding of polar moment of inertia. More physics lol.

Haa, yeah, nothing like lifting that front inner wheel off the ground through a cloverleaf on ramp. It does have a BIT more oversteer than your Boxer too.;)

FWIW The vast majority of the cars shown here are not roadsters...

Of all the ones I've owned, this was my favorite. A '67 350 hp 327 with a Rochester 4 bbl.

Not a style of car I like.

I would, however, love one of these babies:

I agree, AC Cobra = bad-ass, back in the day they were known as Corvette killers.

    Sweeeeet.

I've had a Fiat 500 for a couple of years that I love more than any other car I've owned, but this time of year I find myself wondering if I should have gotten the Abarth Cabrio version instead.
