Some time ago I sold the first guitar I bought with my own money, a Fender Blacktop Telecaster, because I needed some Christmas cash for the kids one year. I know this is a huge longshot, but I'm wondering if anyone has her, or knows someone who does. I'd very much like to get in touch with them. If nothing comes from this, cest le vi. but it would be amazing if I could track her down.

She's a Fender Blacktop Telecaster, Pickups we're original nickel covered, I replaced the bridge pickup with a GFS Humbucker (Crunchy PAT), took the cover off the stock neck pickup, as well as silver knobs. It had two small-medium dings on the bottom left of the body (Pictured), as well a ding on "lower Horn" (also Pictured) and a scratch on the body on the treble side of the bridge pickup.

I know those changes might be re-done, but the body dings will be hard to cover up and should be relatively noticeable.

I sold it in November/December in 2018 in St. Pete. I believe I met him at the Publix at Carillon Park

I've posted this to a dozen FB groups, The Gear Page, and now here. Just trying to cast a wide net.

Please let me know If you've seen her or know something about it! Thanks people!

Good luck with the search. I had one of those brand new back in 2010. The electrics were crap, but I like the HB's, so kept them, and changed out the electronic components.

do you have the serial number? maybe you can search for your serial number with some of the large companies that deal in used guitars and trade-ins (guitar center etc, reverb, ebay). either online or call them up.

Keep an eye out on the local craigslist. It may also pop up on reverb
It could happen; 10 years after I sold my first partscaster, I saw it come up for sale. The guy even sold it back to me at the same price.

Good luck!

I wish i did but the only photos of the back I had are blurry and old cameras with bad quality. :/

Thanks guys! I have a saved search on Reverb and FB marketplace. I have neglected Craigslist for ever but I'll be checking that now.

You’ll find it! Find FB fan groups. Whoever has this is likely to be showing it off due to its uniqueness. Check Metal forums as well.

It’s most likely in someone’s home so get to posting ‘ISO’ in FB groups. Bandmix could be a local resource. Ask local shops if you can put an ‘ISO’ flyer at checkout or on door.

My local shop tracked down a stolen Randy Rhoads Jackson sig for someone just by putting sign on door.

That's not a bad idea about the local shops thing. I'll look into that. No Blacktop fan pages on FB that I could find (only 1 group with 1 member)

Good luck. I just recently found the contact information for the dude that bought my Carvin. Turns out he sold it years ago and hasn’t seen it since. Ruby red on quilt topped mahogany body. Mahogany neck with Ebony board. Blue Dimarzios.

OOOH I remembered, the bridge saddles. I replaced them to be the more modern block saddles.

There's a handsome red one on Craigslist near Baltimore if you feel adventurous. Price is very reasonable. Do a quick search to see it. I see them pop up from time to time and for cheaper than a new Player series. Perhaps the longing for your old guitar can be pacified. Supply is plentiful.

I wouldn't go through a wild goose chase for a guitar unless it was some rare and mystical item that can't be replaced. You can easily find another Telecaster and reproduce your mods. Just my $0.02.
