Is this Tele routed for humbuckers? Bridge or neck?

    Hey y'all!

So I wanted to get this as a present for someone special and I wanted to change the bridge pickup to a humbucker, does anyone have any experience with these and know if they are?

    Thank you!

Mine seems to be routed for something other than a single coil. Humbucker or maybe Filtertron IMG_3940.JPG

Sorry-I see you were referring to the bridge pickup, not the neck. My mistake.

I would think that would fit a P90 on down (Neck)! Of course you show Neck Rout and not Bridge? Bridge would need a Dremel. Pickguard would Dictate what you want in Neck. Mods are expected (Dremel or Drill).

Look at the pictures here of a bullet Tele body:

    http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5338148343&icep_item=402691552989

That body, in order to fit its bridgeplate in an aesthetically pleasing manner for a Tele single coil (e.g., not too big of a bridgeplate and not showing the edges of a necessarily larger HB-sized rout underneath), will not be big enough for a traditional HB in the bridge position.

The neck pickup position, on the other hand, being covered by the pickguard, was already routed big enough to support a bigger pickup such as a PAF-sized HB.

If you want a PAF-sized HB in the bridge, you might want to look for a different donor body that came with a HB bridge pickup, because it will already be routed sufficiently big. And hope the guitar’s owner doesn’t later decide to try to go back to a Tele SC-sized bridge pickup!

Without having to cut, dremrlnor drill- there are a number of humbuckers that will drop right into an existing Tele bridge plate- a search on FleaBay came up with these near the top...

    hope this helps!
