These came with my neck plate, they should be an 1/8" longer, right?

Related question, is it best to start a new thread for questions like this or post it in "What's on your workbench today?" (WOYWT?)

Maple neck? They're probably ok. 1.75 better.

as long as if firms up it's fine.... However, as stated, 1 ¾ inch is standard dark..

Questions get lost in a community thread like the "workbench" thread you mention...

Either one will work. Some people skip individual threads for a multitude of reasons.

I generally run the screw through the neck plate and hold it against the back of the body at the edge of the neck heel so I can see exactly how far the screw goes into the neck.
There are non spec bodies and we don't even know if this is going in a Fender!

This is definitely not a Fender, but it's based on a Tele soul with a custom body shape.
I went ahead and bought new screws. I'd be bummed if they gave way when I string it up.

The design metrics of the Telecaster (and Strat, etc.) really lend themselves to creativity when it comes to body and headstock designs. Your version is really attractive! Nice work on that body shape for sure.

Thanks, Jim. It's weird and a little scary to be in the home stretch on my first scratch build.
It's like the stakes keep going up, but I keep betting so I win the guitar at the end.
