I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Leo got it right the first time, Telecasters are for sissies who can't handle a single bridge pickup.
    Real men play Esquires.

    Dammit, I don't like Telecasters!

No, this is turning into the Millennials That Complaint About Other Peoples' Thread And Commentaries Forum.

Why don't you start a thread seeking opinions of Millennials and Gen Z?:lol:

You and that single pickup "guitar" get a pass simply because of its shape. We are watching you though.....o_O

Aren't you expecting a lot from a thread that was obviously troll bait? As is this one based upon your prejudged opinion that everyone here at TDPRI belongs to "a bunch of grumpy, condescending baby-boomers making snarky remarks".
Great way to attract attention, defensive comments and arguments.

Is that what the younger generation is concerned with? The expectation that dyed hair should be respected by all aspects of society?
If so, there is a lot to learn grasshopper.

When I did programming and systems analysis for a while, we had an acronym that fit that and maybe this thread:

GIGO meaning garbage in, garbage out
in other words, you get out what you put in.

I gotta say though the yellowjacket sting on the top of my head is making me a little grumpy.
Might be why I look kinda crosseyed in the pics.
    Can I say crosseyed here?

Where does the wisdom to understand that "preferences" and "standards" are not synonymous fit in?

Grumpy old man ... Moi .... Hurumphhh

But, I know what you mean Jack Clayton, loads of non-guitar/gear threads here are just ... "so what?".
Fortunately, of course, there's no compulsion to engage with them.

I saw Tanya Tucker perform last Friday. She's 60 and has here hair dyed pink. Don't know what that means, exactly, but I thought I'd through it in.

There used to be a few gals here back when I first came here. Back then, it seemed to be more of a focus on Telecasters specifically and less general discussion.

Hershey's Bad Dog Cafe is our Off Topic forum

What part of this don't you understand? This subforum is not the place to discuss guitar tips and tricks. There are about 20 other subforums on TDPRI where you can discuss guitars, amps, pedals, techniques, etc. to your heart's content.

If you see a post that you think violates forum rules, there's a small symbol at the lower left of each post that you can use to report that post. "I don't know why the rest of this is allowed to fly" -- because the owners of this forum allow it. You don't get to make the rules.

Yeah....I ACTUALLY want to communicate with people. That's why I try my darndest to use correct spelling, grammar, sentence structure, no obscure abbreviations or acronyms, and encourage others to do the same.
For the record, I am NOT a grumpy old man.....I try to maintain a positive and cheerful demeanor, and usually treat people with a high level of patience and respect that they may not even deserve.
My age, however, has given me the right to laugh at silly stuff kids may do, and to do my utmost to discourage dangerous or selfish behavior. Some "whippersnappers" may think older guys have forgotten what it's like to be young, or may be simply out to spoil the youngsters' fun, but sometimes we just wish we could help prevent major mistakes that we can see looming in their futures. We made PLENTY of mistakes, (at least I did) and if I can impart a tiny bit of wisdom to someone, and maybe prevent the kind of results I experienced, then my learning from those mistakes will be worthwhile.
I don't care about pink hair, or almost any "reversible" decision you may make.....I do, however, wish to help you not make mistakes that adversely affect your (or other people's) lives irreparably.

IMPORTANT: Treat everyone here with respect, no matter how difficult!
No sex, drug, political, religion or hate discussion permitted here.
