The non guitar related posts seem to be a split between grumpy old men threads and social justice threads. I prefer the grump old men threads.

Social justice issues are too main stream, confusing and overrepresented these days.
Think of the damage all that pink hair dye is doing to the environment, global warming, global cooling, the ozone layer, dolphins, trees etc.

Ok, why not? My wife lost one of her best friends ever and I'm thinking that it's very few of us who have not lost someone important.

I think a lot of this type of 'grumbling' is done 'tongue in cheek' just to have some fun. No harm meant. You shouldn't always take me seriously.
I have too much southern Illinois hillbilly in me for that.

It really is a sad sack of crap who is past their prime but doesn't then encourage and support those in their prime without imposing their own outdated modes of thought.

On the one hand, we grumpy old guys have to stick together.

On the other, every generation since at least the ancient Greeks has complained that the youth are no good.

On another (I know that's three hands) I have had the good fortune to have spent most of my life teaching on college campuses. Every year, I am a year older, but my students are 17-23 or so. Right now, a number of my students have pink or purple hair. Most students have tattoos, girls more than boys. I do not detect any other difference in them, other than appearance. They have ambitions, plans, dreams, and foibles like any other generation. In my view, the kids are alright.

This seems to be the anti personal opinion thread seeking to shame anyone who thinks differently to the op.

Things probably would run a lot smoother around here if free thought was banned and everyone was conditioned to have the same opinion about every topic.
