    Paint grade alder.

It has to be used somewhere.

If only “perfect” body blanks were used, nobody would be able to afford a wooden guitar.

I would think a 62 reissue should have a spaghetti logo and slab board.... That is a transition logo in an odd spot and a round lam fretboard. (Round laminate came out in second half of 62, but not with that logo.)

Yeah, I’m thinking it’s more toward a mid 60s based CS, 65-66. All conjecture until he says it during an interview or something.

Alder is a bit orange in color compared to ash or pine. That’s all I got.

Ok. So it’s definitely alder. Or ash. Or certainly pine. ;)

(I am in awe of all of you. Genuinely. I’m flat out identifying it as ‘wood’. So all this information has been great!)

Some of the grain looks like ash, but I think it is alder with a grain.

Alpinash? Not the northern version. The Florida panhandle variety.

Nope...it's clearly not tanned enough, even for N FL.

Looks like alder to me, but hard to say based on a small online pic that isn't even in focus.
