It looks like it was up to the task. I just found it dead on the sidewalk in Massachusetts.
No, I dont think so.
Too small and wrong color charactaristics.
Though differences can be very subtle at first look.
Have you asked it?
He’s taking the fifth.
Might be a suicide hornet though.....
Of course, you'd be silent too if somebody mistakes your gender.
She'll remain tight lipped as long as you keep referring her to as "He" and "Him"
(For those who don't know, the Hornets who actually go out and kill things are always female.)
Too many legs.
Too many wings.
Too many stingers.
Too much Hate-orade.
A murder hornet was collected 2 miles from me. They have only been found in the NW corner of Washington state according to our local newspaper.
No, but he knows a hornet that knows a hornet.
Don't think so, but either way I'm glad it's dead on the sidewalk.
Do you have cicada killer wasps there? That’s what it looks like, and they’re pretty large too.
no, although it does look pretty nasty!!
Murder Hornets have much more pronounced striping ...
OK - I hate to seem dumb, but what kinda coin is that? I left the States in 2000 - I don't recognize that thing. I would try to guess by the face on the coin - but I have no idea who that is!
Yeah, I thought it was a quarter until I recognized Jefferson.
How do you know that? The only pictures I ever saw of Jefferson don't really look like this one.
so it's not a quarter. It must be a nickel? Where's the old buffalo when you need him!
Now thats an asian murder hornet.
Size, pronounced striping, face/head coloring.
Nickel. Design updated a few years ago.
Looks like a quarter. They started rolling out all these different quarters in response to US citizenry constantly complaining about our monotonous quarters (sarcasm).
It looks like a quarter to me. In response to absolutely no one complaining about our monotonous boring coinage, mints started rolling out different quarters starting with one or two for each state some time around 2000. They never stopped. There quarter designs for all kinds of who-knows-what. It's kind of out of hand. It's not like we don't have actual problems that need to be overcome.
I'm envious of your country of residence. My wife and I are talking about possibly retiring in Northern Europe. That's a long way off, but the Dutch or maybe German countryside are on the short list. If we can get the kids to follow us it's a done deal!
Edit: post above says nickel. A look on my computer rather than phone shows smooth edges, so he is indeed correct!
Use a magnifying glass and see if it has a teardrop tattoo under it’s eye
