Neck and neck pocket of my 2010 CS Sparkle Tele.
Again... I stress the importance of contacting Fender. Give them the serial number and the photos of the guitar. The will send back the Spec Sheet which will confirm the guitar as legit or not.
Necks and neck plates can be bought on line to build a fake. All of us are guessing. Only Fender can confirm.

I agree on that not being the appropriate case for a CS tele. One other thing I noticed, no micro-tilt adjustment. But I don't know if they came with one.

The locking tuners throw me off, ask if they are an upgrade or stock. If they are stock, I would stay away especially with no paperwork.

Regardless of what it actually is, that's a pretty guitar.

No, I have a Custom Shop '51 Nocaster, and it came with regular case. I think you have to pay extra for a nicer case, something I was unaware of.

My Custom Shop Tele relic came with two cases - a thin tweed case and a case like this one. But that was a special order for a specific run, must have been in the early 2000s.

It's a gorgeous Tele...in my humble "imagination" of you're talking Custom Shop it can look like anything...stock or (heh) custom.
