Just curious as I’m in the market for a tremolo pedal and from tons of research, and even out of the mouth of Blackberry Smokes own Charlie Starr, the Fulltone Supa Trem was pretty much the one pedal to “rule them all”….is this still the case or has a newcomer knocked him off his throne?

The Supra Trem is historically a great pedal and I don’t think anyone could go wrong with it, but what I have learned is that you should find out what amp tremolo do you like the most and then chase the pedal that best emulates that specific trem. Lots of great ones to choose in this golden era of pedals. This is how I finally climbed my way out of the trem rabbit hole.

Good luck.

Probably the best amp Trem I’ve ever used was out of an old 100 watt Yamaha 4x12 solid state combo amp I used to use when I was playing full time…. That thing was sooooooo sweet

I'm currently waiting on a Supro tremolo to arrive. If it doesn't do what I want better than a fulltone, I'll get rid of it. I haven't found trem I like in pedal form yet.

I've used a Fulltone trem for years, the first version Supa Trem with the volume control still internal. It's the best, except mine has gotten unreliable (the trem depth kind of comes and goes). It's probably not worth enough money to have someone figure out what's wrong and repair it, so for now it's in my box of misfit toys. I'm using a Tru-Fi Ultra Tremolo these days and it sounds really good (and looks cool). I miss the control of the Fulltone, the speed and hard/soft switches, the great big radio knobs.

I bet you could send it to full tone and they would repair it for a fair price, no personal experience, but I bet Fuller would gladly repair his bulletproof pedals, he seems to stand behind his stuff. If you contact him, update this thread with the results.

Supa Trem is great. I had a yellow Supa-Trem Tree 2 and tonally it was the best I've had. I'm currently using a J. Rockett Mr. Moto. It's good enough.
