The speaker is FRFR - there are "speaker models" which will make it behave like an amp speaker, or you can turn those off.

It's like what you feed in, you get out. A modeling amp like the Mustang is the exact opposite.

Because the modeling amp emulates a wide contrast of tube amp designs, I'm pretty sure that the best known modeling amps, from most expensive to the least use speakers that try to avoid coloring the sound. Monitor cabs, PA cabs, Keyboard speaker cabs, etc.

The Mustangs aren't a true FRFR, they only have the single 10" or 12" driver. They're more of a guitar range "fairly" flat response.

I believe the speaker in the Mustang III is a Celestion GT-100, a regular 12" guitar cab speaker. If I recall correctly from the Fender forum, the models are voiced for a guitar speaker and not a FRFR. Seems a little counterintuitive, but it is what it is.

A high dollar modelling amp like a Helix or Kempler...what kind of speakers do they recommend using ?

Most around here like the Atomic/QSC.

My buddy who runs both a Kemper/Fractal, uses both FRFR, and guitar speaker cabinets, and a tube power amp. Its all good.

My friend uses a Meyer MJF212 FRFR, but he's loaded, and has been collecting gear since 61.

My 2001 Fender Cyber Twin had the Celestion GT 100, and I put 2 EV12Ls in it, and have since put 2 Celestion Creams in it. I don't care for the GT100s. NO Definition, and bland sounding.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING about the Mustang III is FRFR. It's a plain old combo amp which happens to sound fantastic too!
