Is the electric guitar used in BTS’s song “Dynamite” a Telecaster?

    Hey everyone!

I’d like to buy my first electric guitar, and I’d really like to get an electric guitar that has/is capable of having the disco, funky, upbeat sound of the electric guitar in BTS’s song Dynamite. (It can be heard throughout basically the entire song, but it gets louder at 1:41 and 2:56 in their video: ).

So, I was wondering if anyone would please take a listen and let me know if it sounds like a Telecaster to you? (I’m not sure how difficult it is to identify an electric guitar’s general type from just the sound, so if it is too tricky to do, please let me know).

Thank you in advance for any assistance or advice you give!

Not sure if that is a telecaster...I'm thinking more stratocaster, ala Nile Rogers.

The Telecaster is one of the most funky guitars on earth. But on the sound I heard, it sounds more like a Strat, #3 position, as I didn't hear a lot of quack.

But almost any guitar would work, especially with single coil pickups. So a LesPaul with a coil-split, Telecaster, Strat, etc. Also the over processed sound provided by those studio wizards could make a Rickenbacker or Gretsch sound like that.

The answer is if you like the guitar, like a Tele, one can make it sound like anything. Use the tone control to surf your sound.

That's a generic electric guitar tone, pretty much any guitar can get that sound, but the real key is the right amp. Like a Fender, not a $79 Gorilla.

Not a Tele IMHO.... If I was a betting man... I would also say Strat, or S type.

If you want to get there: Strat + compressor pedal.
