    Hi,

I have an AM STD 2011 Telecaster which came with no base plate pickup on the bridge.

I was wondering if it's possible to buy the Broadcaster Pickup that comes in the bridge Tele's from 2012 onward as I would love to replace it.

    Thanks!

Have you tried Stratosphere on eBay? They seem to have every fender part under the sun.

There's a LOT of these type pickups on the market.

    Fender PV 52 pickups
    Fender Nocaster pickups
    Seymour Duncan Broadcaster

And probably about two dozen other independent winders.

They're all a variation on a theme and sound pretty similar.

That pickup has never been sold separately by Fender. You'll need to buy used, for that.

oh! you think that's the closest match?

They're in my price range. Would love to get just the bridge one as I think the neck pickup won't be much different on what came on my AM STD 2011

An original Broadcaster pickup from an ordinal 50s Broadcaster or from a 2020 reissue? Haven’t seen the reissues on the market, but no doubt you could buy a one from an original Broadcaster. Might be pricey or you might have to part out one from a lap steel, that proceeded it.

Best I’ve tried yet and I’ve tried them all is Marks at Auburn Electric. His Blackguard set. That’s what an old broadcaster should sound like.

Have you tried the new broadcaster that comes on the 2013's onward? I was looking for a more modern approach fender did on it not the vintage original.

Buy a baseplate off eBay. $10. Melt some candle wax on bottom of bobbin to fasten it. I silasticed mine on my original 69 Thinline.

Adds the missing chime of a vintage Tele pickup.

Yeah! I sent my pickup for repairing and I gave the tech guy the Base Plate so that he adds it.

Noticed my bridge pickup is not the same as yours. Check out where the 3 screws go it has a bevel that needs to be cut off so the base plate can stick to the pickup. Also it has a screw right into the wiring.

Do you think this pickup can sound like the modern broadcaster one?

Several years ago I bought a Broadcaster pickup set from Lindy Fralin. They sound good to me.

yeah but $210 is too pricy for me... the Nocaster from Fender are 150 or Seymour Duncan 130 and both are great.
