It's you. Strats need to be sonic blue with a RW board. Happy to correct your error.

No, you're not crazy, it is the most beautiful look for a Strat, - pref with a CBS headstock though!

I love a beautiful guitar ... But looks are secondary ... Say you had the most beautiful hammer in the universe, but it couldn't drive a nail properly ...

Not that I'm aware. I've searched for that interview a few times, to no avail. He also stated in that intvw that most of his time is spent on the middle pickup. I'm guessing it was from an old Guitar Player magazine

Maple necks work very well on a variety of body colors.

I agree with the OP, BUT this is the best maple neck Strat (and Tele) look, IMO.

Oh! My absolute fav Strat color. That's really nice. I had a WD parts Strat that I built, and it looked almost exactly like that. I was a fool for letting it go. Pardon the dust, but it was shot on an actual film camera (that long ago). gold_strat_1-1.jpg

I can't disagree. Mine is Blonde, so close enough.
    American Standard Deluxe, 1998.
Tort guard though. Am I alone here?
It looks very fetching with my blonde Tele, 1968.
    White guard.

This is the ONLY color scheme where I like a tortoise pickguard.

there's a white on white big headstock 69 custom shop near me - $3900. I could sell most of my guitars and my p-bass and raise it. I want it because of seeing pictures of jimi at Woodstock. but my thing is usually rosewood on a strat neck, and I like sunburst on a strat. there's also a great 59 custom shop - $4200. I want them both. I wish I had something else to sell.
