Hi guys,

I recently purchased a nice Epiphone Sheraton 1962 50th anniversary, she sounds nice but I really can't bond with the neck: the slim taper is too small for my big hands :(
I have been proposed to swap it for a 50s mex tele, in sunburst, with US pickups (don't know exactly which ones - I suppose modern style) brass saddles and a leather strap :)shock:)

What do you think?
Is it a good deal?
And what should I look at if/when I will meet the guy?

thanks

Mimmo.

I like those Fender OV pickups. I don't think you'd need to replace those unless you just wanted something different. CTS pots are pretty much the industry standard.

Have you played the guitar? All the upgrades sound like something worth having, and, more importantly, reversible if you later decide you don't like/want them.

It's a good deal, but only if you check the Mex Tele's neck and frets carefully. There are good Mex Teles and there are ones with neck and fret issues.
