Is anybody else personally or seeing fellow worshipers getting really hammered over the last year and a half or so with all sorts of strange stuff?

Over the last few days in particular have really been shell shocked by things happening to folks I have worked with plus some health struggles of my and my families own. Seems all hell is coming after many in my worship circles right now. I wonder is anybody else going through anything like this?
Yesterday heard the news former American Idol contestant CJ Harris who I had talked to at one time about working with and him coming on as the worship pastor at my Church died suddenly of a heart attack at 31.

Just found out yesterday also that a lady I have done a lot of pure spontaneous worship with Beverly was devastated by COVID. I know she was sick but had no idea how bad it was. Virtually destroyed her lungs and she without a miracle she won't be with us long.
Here we are working together at an event and she is the vocalist here

A few months ago did a community worship event with some local folks. One was former Imperials singer Jason Holcox Got word a couple months ago Jason was struggling. He suddenly found out he was diabetic had a serious issue with his foot and as a result lost both his foot and part of his leg. There was not a clue about anything going on with his health the last time we played together here>

A few months ago Charolet the vocalist here who i have played with for years died of Cancer.

And there is more i don't want to go into all in the last year and a half or so.
Haven't said anything about our situation here but my wife who has been a RN for almost 40 years was injured on the floor of one of the local hospitals in a bad fall last March. Long story but the employer has treated her very badly. As a result we are in litigation over it and she is now in Rehab after having shoulder surgery. We are not sure yet if she will ever work as a floor nurse again. Now add that after the tornado outbreak here last week I had a sudden flair of AS and for a day or so it locked my hands up so badly I suddenly could not play guitar. Man it's getting hard to not get in some fear over all that is hitting so many around us plus our situation.
Is this just us here or is something like this going on with any of you guys who are in worship circles in other places? I have never seen so many folks I know and have worked with in Worship all getting hammered like this virtually at the same time.

To be honest, I have a few friends / fellow worship leaders that have been or are in 'hard times". Jesus told his followers that to follow Him, will cost you.
In spite of these "last days trials and craziness" I am more determined than ever to make every opportunity count ( worship leading, teaching music lessons, spending time with my grandaughters)
I've posted this before, but life passes by quicker than ever, once you reach your mid 60's.
I'm just getting started, but I am serving with humility and gratefulness. Hence the attached photo, of me and a younger worship leader I am helping.

Well, 2 yrs ago I lost my brother in law to a road accident. November before last the bass player from my 1980s ministry band died from cancer complications aged 59. Last July the lead singer from the same band had a heart attack and died. My dad just passed 10 days ago.

But other family members not active in church activity - one brother in law has lost both parents and two brothers in separate events. Another brother in law lost both parents.

The sun shines on the just and the unjust, rain falls too.

I'm not seeing it as targeted losses, really, just that this stuff happens all the time to all sorts of people and sometimes it comes into our direct field of view.

After all that; sorry for your losses, Richard. I hope you have a good outcome with the legal and health situations, all the best to you and yours.

Thank guys for the responses. May just be one of those seasons of life but so much is hitting so quick on so many sides to so many around us it's kinda overwhelming. Really has been a hard 2 years or so on many of us in the Worship community here just an odd season. Wondered if it was just here or something wider spread was going on.

my wife lost her right foot. a couple years before that, a double mastectomy. these days, it's dementia. i just found out my part-time job didn't deduct any federal taxes at all last year. waa, waa, waa.

but the above is not a complaint, just statement of facts. God has helped us through it all and i believe He will continue to do so.

when G'd is an anchor, why would he be when everything in life would be smooth?
faith in Him is good, trust in Him is better and we all will have those times that we have got to hold on tight with trust, to that anchor.
not with the why question, but that it has some purpose, even when we don't see it.

but that is my personal opinion ;)
