I don't usually like action films, films that rely on special effects, or films based on comic books, but I like Iron Man because of Robert Downey. He always brings something else to a film: Ironic Man. But for wacky Robert Downey films, Iron Man can't touch A Scanner Darkly. I even dug the "rotoshopping" done to that film:

Both the Mrs and I loved it, which is a real rarity. As far as I can tell, stuck pretty close to the original story. Killer special effects, great soundtrack, great cast. Can't wait to see the sequel on the big screen.

I don't go to see some of these new movies cause the special effects make it seem like a cartoon that's trying too hard to be taken seriously.

This doesn't happen here, eh?

Actually, that's one of the things I liked about it. The effects made the characters seem super-human, but not cartoony. Stark could take a thrashing that would in real life kill any human and basically walk away.

I don't go to the movies because they often suck, they are too expensive, the food, drinks, etc. are a rip-off, and I do not have a pause button if I need to got to the can. It is much more enjoyable to watch them in my chair with my own beverage and a remote control.

I do NOT like Super Hero movies. (Hulk, Sperman, Batman, Spiderman - no thanx)

I am just not on that level, but there was something about Iron Man that was actually entertainning.
I even got the DVD as an X-Mass pressi last year.
Sadly, i have this bad feeling that IronMan II is not gonna be as good as the 1st (usually is with number II, III, IV, V and so on)

Iron Man.

IRon Man was a totally fun (well done) movie. It was way better than I thought it would be.

I hope part 2 is just as good. But I doubt it.

I liked it a lot. Many of us like to see a spoiled rich guy taken down a few notches until he gains some selflessness. Robert Downey Jr. played that part real well.

I dug it. Robert Downey Jr took this a step above the average action-packed commercial blockbuster. Worth it, IMHO.

My 2¢...

I haven't seen Iron Man 2 yet, but the first one is great. One of the few comic book films to do it right.

Unlike the abominations that are the Spiderman films..

Robert Downey Jr is very entertaining to watch, as mentioned above he's excellent in A Scanner Darkly, and Tropic Thunder (which is hilarious).

If you're into philosophy at all you should check out another of Richard Linklater's films called "Waking Life". It uses the same rotoscoping technique (though less refined). There's little story, but it's a fantastic watch.

I liked Iron Man, and I hope the sequel is as good.

Generally, I'm not into these type of movies, never read the comic, and didn't know what to expect, but compared to some of the movies I've seen based on superheroes, it was very entertaining.

Like I say, I hope the sequel is as good.

HEY! No spoiler reports on Part 2 if you happen to see it and report here - make it simple: either good or bad. Please!
