I like jazz, but I don’t/can’t play it.
Do you ever play music with a family member?

Yes, my daughter and I duet on a few songs, most notably “Jackson” by Johnny Cash and June Carter and an original song I wrote called “Shotgun Confessions”

I’ll also back her up on slide guitar or harp.

    Same question...

I played guitar “backup” for my fiddle playing Dad when I was young, and he was still with us.
My sister and I have a duo we call One Lane Bridge.
    She sings beautifully.
Are you a solitary player (mostly) or do you play with others (mostly)?

Originally, I was primarily a “group” player...in fact, for the longest time, I was the “fill-in-the-blanks” guy for various bands—playing harp, singing (lead or backup), rhythm or slide guitar, depending on what is needed.

As I’ve gotten older and more proficient at playing guitar, I find myself doing more and more “solo” performances.

    Same question.

I've always preferred to play with others.

What's your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

    I love breakfast!
    At home I like cereal.
Oatmeal with berries when it’s cooler, or a mix of about three kinds of dry cereal when it’s warm.
    Fruit is mandatory.
If I eat out, Migas, Machcado, or an vegetarian omelet.
Mexican breakfast is to die for, IMO.
Favorites are Julio’s in Austin, and Chepo’s in San Marcos.
I’m not a vegetarian, but I love the Vegetarian Omelet from Austin’s one and only Omelettry.
    Same question please.

Tough one. I love documentaries. Anything by Ken Burns is worth watching in my book. Having said that, Ken Burns' Country Music was terrific, so I'll go with that one.

    Presently, it’s Together Again.
I sang it as a duet in the Audrey Malone Band.
    It was fun!

    1973.
I was 16, and I had a mop of wannabe rocker hair, a mouthful of teeth, and a head full of dreams.
I had a sweet, beautiful girlfriend, a cool car (56 Chevy), a groovy Les Paul/Marshall stack, and a good band (really!).
All my people were alive and well, and my little world was perfect in every way.
The years have brought many joys and heartbreaks, just like everyone else, I suppose.
    I’ve sure enjoyed my trip!
    Same question please.

2009. I was in fourth grade, and I was enjoying playing guitar more than ever before, I had just got a Nintendo Wii and enjoyed playing Lego Star Wars on it with my childhood best friend (we hadn’t yet drifted apart), my childhood dog and grandparents were alive and well, and there weren’t any issues yet with extend-family drama or neighborhood pettiness. It’s safe to say that it was the last time that I actually had real friends and I wasn’t depressed yet. Nobody had screwed me over or hurt me yet, and adulthood seemed like a distant thing. It’s all been consistently downhill since then. If I could press a button to go back and restart everything from that point in time, I probably would.

If you had to guess, how many times have you participated in this thread over the years?
