donner_preamp_pedals.jpg Donner has introduced five new pedal sized two channel preamps. One is a Soldano, one is a Peavey VH 6505, and the other three combine Fender twins on channel one, and an Orange AD30, Marshall JTM45, or Marshall 1959 on channel two. All of them have gain, level, three band EQ, and reverb controls, and a defeatable cab sim. Shane at In the Blues has posted his demos of them on YouTube. They're priced in the $65-70 range. here's a pic of them. The green and brown ones are the Fender/Marshall ones, the orange one is the Fender/Orange one, the blue one is the Soldano one, and the black one is the PV one.

Can you link the video? I like cheap good sounding gear and i'm interested to hear how they sound.

I tried to do the two Marshall ones, but they didn't load right for some reason. I'll try again later. But, you can easily find them yourself on YouTube.

I couldn't easily find the JTM or SL marshall versions.
Doug, if you click on the Media icon at the top menu bar when posting after clicking on the Http youtube link and copying, then insert the link in the box it should work.

I bought the Joyo American Sound and AC Tone six years ago and have been delighted with them, so when the Donners came out I thought I would give them a try. I bought the Green Land and Sweet Juice models for about £34 each from Amazon in June, along with the Donner Alpha Cruncher Delay/Chorus/Distortion pedal. The Alpha Cruncher is currently on my board, but the pre-amp pedals are back in their boxes. I had wanted to set them up so that I could switch from a Fender sound to the Marshall or Orange at the click of a switch, but never managed to master it. Currently any available time is needed to get the hang of my new Behringer XR18 digital mixer so I don't see myself getting them out again this side of New Year.

I have a small footprint tuner pedal and tremolo, so the intention was to use them along with one of these and the Alpha Cruncher to give me a small direct to PA pedalboard, where the power supply will be the largest item on the board. next year perhaps!

Currently unavailable on Amazon UK, don't know if that is the situation elsewhere.

Apparently I was wrong about the first channel on the green one. It's a tweed Bassman, not a Twin.

Has anyone else noticed that these are the perfect size for stocking stuffers?

One thing I've noticed in the several promotional demos on YouTube is that these pedals are not very user friendly. While cramming everything into a small enclosure is neat, it also makes it more difficult to use.

Man at that price the brown “Twin/plexi” would make a great backup to my current preamp.
I’m not hearing lots of dynamic range on the vids, but the tone is in the ball park. Would love to play one in person. With all the VST algorithms out there, it’s a no brainer that pedal companies would start putting them in stompboxes. Again, the price is in the ‘leap of faith’ range.

Would be so much cooler with an enclosure large enough for a battery.
