I'm thinking about building an Esquire but wanna make it a little more interesting, any one know any good additions to the basic style?

I'm already considering TBX tone circuit, .020 cap for an out of phase type position, a direct-to-jack option.

    Anyone know anything better?

Maybe the 'cocked wah' mod for the 3rd position on the switch. I like it.

I''ve been wanting to try wiring an Equire with a G&L type PTB tone control. It would have 3 knobs and no switch. The tone circuit would look like this:

I love the way this circuit sounds in my Legacy-the bass knob takes you from a thin funky sound to a chunky sound. I don't know how it would sound, but it might be a cool way to hot rod an Esquire.

If someone could turn this schematic into an idiot proof diagram, I'll give it a shot and report back.

The reverse taper 1 meg pot can be purchased directly from G&L's website.

Yeah - add a neck pickup

I have an Esquire but I really missed the neck tones, so I installed a set of Nocasters. Best decision I've made on that guitar.
