KC-135R refueling a C-5. I was a navigator on the KC-135 for my 23 year Air Force career.
Dang! It looks like the KC-135 is a quarter mile beyond the C-5 in that image, not immediately in front and above it. I knew the C-5 is enormous, but that photo really illustrates it relative size to another pretty large aircraft.
I work close to Travis AFB which is the main west coast hub for the C-5. Until you've seen one coming in or taking off only a few thousand feet off the ground a picture cant do it justice. Makes you wonder how something that big could ever fly.
